Julia Anderson
Born May 24, 1994 in Forth Worth, Texas Julia Anderson is a freestyle swimmer at Stanford University. Anderson is currently in her junior year, and she’s studying Psychology. Standing 5’8″ Anderson was a three-time Texas University Interscholastic League state champion in the 200 freestyle and 2012 champion in the 100 freestyle representing R.L. Paschal High School. She’s been apart of the U.S. National Junior Team, was a National Merit Scholar in high school as well as a Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team member. Anderson was apart of a very strong Stanford recruiting class, and at the time of her verbal commitment Stanford had already secured commitments from two other National Junior teamers. Prior to the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials Anderson was plagued by severe pneumonia – she struggled with the illness, which made her physically exhausted. She was strong enough to push through, and made a semi-final at the Trials.

Stanford University
2012-2013
As a freshman Anderson competed at the NCAA Championships. After scoring in four events at the Pac-12 meet and finishing fourth in the 200 freestyle, she helped her 800 freestyle relay team finish fourth at the NCAA Championships earning her All-America honors.

2013-2014
Anderson finished eighth in the 200 freestyle, 12th in the 500 freestyle and 21st in the 100 freestyle at the Pac-12 Championships. She competed at the NCAA Championships again helping her team finish third in the 800 freestyle relay where they set a school record. Her time in the 200 freestyle marked her as the seventh fastest 200 freestyle swimmer in Stanford history.

2014-2015
Currently Anderson is in her junior year as a Stanford Cardinal. She finished 31st in the 500 freestyle, 20th in the 200 freestyle and 35th in the 100 freestyle at the Pac-12 Championships.

National Competition
Anderson is a former two-time member of the U.S. National Junior Team in the 200 freestyle. She made a semi-final at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials finishing 16th overall in the 200m freestyle.
