Jaynie Pulte
Jaynie Pulte focuses on the freestyle and butterfly events at Stanford University, where she’s currently in her junior year. Pulte is originally from Troy, Mich. where she was a three-time state champion in the 50 freestyle. Born to parents, Julie and Jay Pulte, she has two siblings – younger sisters, Katie and Mollie. Pulte is majoring in Science, Technology & Society at Stanford, and she’s been on the Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention team. Pulte graduated from Marian High School, but in between school years she travelled down to Florida to train with the Clearwater Aquatic Club under coach Randy Reese. Pulte was very involved in Marian’s student life – she was Vice President of her class, a four-year member of Marian’s SAAD organization and was involved in both the National and Spanish honor societies.
Stanford University
2012-2013
As a freshman Pulte competed at the Pac-12 Championships, where she swam season-bests in the 50 and 100 freestyle as well as the 100 butterfly.
2013-2014
At the Pac-12 meet Pulte made it into the ‘B’ final of the 100 butterfly, placing 16th overall. She also swam season best times in all three individual events.
2014-2015
Pulte swam a sub-23 second 50 freestyle for the first time at the Pac-12 meet, finishing 17th overall. She also had a big drop in the 100 butterfly, finishing 13th, and came in 33rd in the 100 freestyle.
National Competition
Pulte qualified for the Junior National Championships as a high school student at Marian, where she was a three-time state champion in the 50 freestyle. She also holds the Michigan D1 high school record in the same event – she earned All-State and All-American honors.
