Anna Catharine Nazemi grew up in Asheville, NC so deciding to attend UNC Asheville was clear choice for her.
Nazemi explored both sprint an mid distance as a freshman for the UNC Asheville Bulldogs, racing everything from the 50 freestyle to the 500 freestyle.
As a newcomer to college training and weightlifting, Nazemi saw huge time improvements throughout the season. She swam her fastest at the 2015 Georgia Tech Mid Season Invitational where she raced to personal best times in the 100, 200 and 500 freestyle.
At the 2016 Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Championships, Nazemi raced second best personal best times in all her events.
Nazemi looks to develop her already solid freestyle training during her upcoming sophomore season.
