Ajna Kesely is a Hungarian swimmer who has had success in the pool since a young age.
2015 European Youth Olympic Summer Festival
At the age of 13 at the Euro Youth Olympic Festival, Ajna won 4 gold medals (200-800 free, 200 fly) as well as a silver in the 100 free.
2016 European Junior Championships
Kesely made a huge impact during her home JR games (in Hódmezővásárhely, Hungary) as she won 5 medals for Hungary. She claimed gold in the 200-800 freestyle and as a part of the 4×200 free relay. She also won a silver as a member of the mixed 4×100 free relay.
2016 European Championships
At the 2016 Euros, Kesely earned a gold medal in the 4×200 free relay for swimming in the heats. She also swam the 200 free individually, where she placed 6th.
2017 European Junior Championships
In Netanya, Anja went 6-for-6, as she won the 200-1500 freestyles as well as earned golds as a member of the 4×200 free relay and mixed 4×100 free relay.
2017 World Junior Championships
In Indianapolis, Anja won gold in the 400 free, while earning double silver in the 800 and 1500 free.
2018 European Junior Championships
Kesely returned to European Jr’s and won even more medals than the previous year, this time raking in 8. She defended her titles in the 400-1500 free as well as helping Hungary once again secure gold in the 4×200 free relay. She also added a gold medal in the 400 IM. Anja earned silver in the 200 free, and bronze in the 200 IM and mixed 4×100 free relay.
2018 European Championships
Anja won her first senior international medals at the 2018 Euro Champs, where she medaled in all 3 distance free events, earning silver in the 400 and 800 (both European JR records) as well as bronze in the 1500.
