Backstroker Natalie McGovern Verbally Commits to Become an Iowa Hawkeye

Aurora, Illinois native Natalie McGovern has made a verbal commitment to the University of Iowa for 2015-16. The future Hawkeye is a senior at Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Illinois,

McGovern placed third in the 100 back at the 2014 Illinois High School Girls Swimming & Diving Championships. She also led off the Neuqua Valley 200 medley relay.

McGovern trains year-round with Academy Bullets Swim Club. She was a B-finalist in the 50y and 100y back, and a D-finalist in the 200y back at the 2014 NCSA Spring Championship. Her best SCY times are:

50y back – 25.81
100y back – 54.72
200y back – 2:00.30
100y fly – 56.41
200y fly – 2:05.87
200y IM – 2:07.77

The Hawkeyes are building a strong class of 2019 and have also received verbal commitments from:
