Audrey Derivaux Scares Claire Curzan’s 13-14 NAG Record With 58.93 100 Butterfly

2024 FUTURES CHAMPIONSHIPS- AUSTIN

14 year old Audrey Derivaux climbed the US National Age Group (NAG) rankings in another event this week, this time swimming the #2 all-time 13-14 100 butterfly touching in a 58.93.

Derixaux previously sat at #3 all-time as she swam a 59.25 at US Olympic Trials last month for a 24th place finish. Today’s swim would have earned a 20th place finish at Trials.

She sits only behind NAG record holder Claire Curzan.

All-Time Top 5 13-14 Girls LCM 100 Butterfly

  1. Claire Curzan, 58.61 (2019)
  2. Audrey Derivaux, 58.93 (2024)
  3. Kendyl Stewart, 59.51 (2009)
  4. Alex Shackell, 59.61 (2021)
  5. Mary Meagher, 59.71 (1978).

Derivaux joins a historic list of the top 100 butterflyers in the 13-14 age group. The list includes Claire Curzan who went onto swim the event at the 2020(1) Tokyo Olympics. Alex Shackell is also an Olympian on this list as she will compete this upcoming week in Paris. Kendyl Stewart just missed the 2016 Olympian Team in the 100 fly as she was 3rd at US Trials.

This is the 2nd event this week in which Derivaux now moves up to #2 in the age group all-time as she just missed the NAG in the 200 fly on night 1 of the meet. Derivaux swam a 2:07.70, just missing the NAG of a 2:07.01 set by Mary T Meagher back in 1979. Despite missing the record on night 1, Derivaux sits ahead of Meagher in the 100 fly.

Derivaux made headlines at US Trials as she made the final of the women’s 400 IM where she finished 8th overall. She will compete in the 200 backstroke tomorrow, her final individual race of a packed meet.
