Back/freestyler Harley Lopez Miro has announced her intention to be a Tiger, as she’s just given her verbal commitment to the application process at Princeton University. Lopez Miro currently swims with Auburn Aquatics in Alabama, where her dad, Sergio Lopez, coaches the Auburn University swim team. She’ll head off to college after graduating from Auburn High School.
Most of Lopez Miro’s best times in yards are from 2013-14, as she spent a little over a year in Singapore competing in the meters pool from the end of 2014 to late 2016. During her high school swimming career, she’s been a finalist 3 times at the Florida 1A High School State Championships while competing for the Bolles School. In the 2013-14 season, she placed 4th in the 500 free and 8th in the 200 free. In 2014-15, she finished 8th in the 200 free with a career-best 1:50.82.
Lopez Miro’s Top Times:
Event | Best Time |
200 free | 1:50.82 |
500 free | 4:56.13 |
100 back | 56.59 |
200 back | 2:00.85 |
1000 free | 10:20.49 |
1650 free | 17:54.28 |
If accepted to Princeton, Lopez Miro should have an immediate impact for the Tigers at the Ivy League Championship meet. Her best times in the 100 back and 200 back are already fast enough to have scored in the B-final at last season’s Ivy League meet. Additionally, her times in the 200 free and 1000 free are already fast enough to have scored C-final points.
*IVY LEAGUE DISCLAIMER: A “verbal commitment” by a coach is not an offer of admission, as only the Admissions Office has that authority. An Ivy League coach can only commit his or her support in the admissions process.

Nice job. Congratulations.
Always proud of you baby girl!
Congrats!
