Aubrey Peacock and Emily Bos have gotten together to put together this personal testimonial on their upcoming “Swim for MS” fundraiser, and talk about why it means so much to the Auburn swimming & diving program.

You might wonder why Auburn Swimming and Diving would take on the “Swim for MS” fundraiser with a lofty goal of $10,000.  The simple answer is that someone we love has been struck with this disease and it is personal for us.

Three years ago, Trudi Hawke, our head coach’s wife was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Trudi is an amazing wife, mother and friend to our team. She always has a smile on her face and has such a positive attitude towards life. We could all learn a thing or two from her about forging ahead when the going gets tough.

She is the mother of four young children and is often left at home while Brett travels with us. As a team, we want to work together to give back to someone special to our team and to individuals across the nation that are affect by M.S.  We hope to do this by raising money and awareness to support The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America.

While we will be competing against each other in a swim meet and a fund raiser, the final outcome is that everyone wins. Our hope is that our story will touch the hearts of many people and that we will exceed our goal.  You can donate by following the links below.
