One month into Arizona State’s first season with head coach Bob Bowman, the team is feeling confident under the direction of the new staff.
Bowman hired a world-class staff to join him in Tempe. Olympic gold medalist Misty Hyman was his biggest hire, but he also added former Texas A&M associate head coach Ryan Mallum to his staff as the associate head coach. The only coach that Bowman retained from last year was assistant coach, Dan Kesler. This is Kesler’s third season with the team after getting his start as a coach at Wingate University.
Additionally, Bowman was recently named the head coach of the 2016 US Men’s Olympic Swim Team.
The Sun Devils are off to a strong start this season. The men’s team topped the University of the Pacific on October 3rd, 170-92. The women’s team also started the season off with a win, topping Oregon State 109-94.
The pool is looking nice! Go Devils!
Not a surprise that he has started well. There is also no reason to doubt that he will finish well too. His program will no doubt attract top talent and in a few years time he should rival the best in the country. And it all happens in the sunshine!
It will be a project. Those two wins don’t mean much. They have signed several swimmers but no program changers…no one that will be a difference at the NcAA level. Hope they haven’t spent much money on these signees if they want to be a top 5 team at NCAA’s!
weirdo – they got a 45 second butterflier transfering in. That’s a program changer.
Not. Missing. Baltimore.
