Arizona Celebrates Senior Day With Exhibition Meet Against Texas

After battling it out in a dual meet yesterday, where the Texas men and women came out victorious, the Longhorns and the Wildcats swam an exhibition meet (no scoring) today to celebrate Senior Day at the University of Arizona.

The meet consisted of a variety of events, including some races that are not swum in the NCAA. Among these events, there was a 300 IM, 300 freestyle, 150 of every stroke, and 300 backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly relays. There was also a mixed 200 medley relay that finished off the meet.

Arizona did well in the relays, winning all but one of them. Other highlights for the Wildcats was Annie Ochitwa winning the women’s 50 fly in 23.79, Chatham Dobbs taking the men’s 50 fly in 21.45, and Taylor Schick taking the 50 free in 22.48.

Highlights for the Longhorns included Will Licon taking the 150 breaststroke in 1:24.97, John Shebat winning the 150 butterfly in 1:15.21, and Madisyn Cox dominating the women’s 300 IM, among many other solid performances.
