Il detentore del record mondiale e medaglia d’oro olimpica Adam Peaty ha deluso le aspettative questa mattina a Sheffield rinunciando a gareggiare nei 200 metri rana.

Come abbiamo riferito, Peaty dichiarò all’inizio di quest’anno, “Ho intenzione di nuotare i 200m ai Trials. Solo per vedere come va”.

A Marsiglia, al FFN Golden Tour nuotò i 200 rana chiudendo in 2:14.48.

Peaty era iscritto con il 6 ° tempo, 2:14.64, mentre l’olimpionico James Wilby è la testa di serie con 2:07.91.

Wilby è tra i nuotatori britannici già pre-qualificati per il 2022 FINA World Aquatic Championships sia nei 100 che nei 200 metri rana.
