Adam Chaney Scheduled to Make Winter Juniors Debut on Friday (HEAT SHEETS)

2019 SPEEDO WINTER JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS – EAST

4 swimmers have scratched out of circle-seeded heats on Friday morning at the 2019 Speedo Winter Junior Championships – East, though none of them were top 10 seeds.

The highest seed to scratch is Alex Borisov, who is dropping out of the boys’ 400 IM as the 11th seed. He has an additional entry in the 100 breaststroke, where he’s the 16th seed.

Paige McCormick has scratched the girls’ 200 free as the 17th seed, but she’ll still have plenty of action – she’s the 3rd seed in the 400 IM and the 82nd seed (with a long course time) in the 100 backstroke.

Kamal Muhammad has scratched the boys’ 100 fly as the 15th seed, as well as his entry in the 100 back, to leave him with no swims on Friday; and NC State commit Arsenio Bustos scratched the 100 breaststroke to focus on the 100 fly and 100 backstroke, showing off his versatility.

Also note that Preston Forst, who on Friday morning is the #1 seed in the 100 fly and the #9 seed in the 200 free, was a no-show for both of his races on Thursday morning.

Adam Chaney of the Mason Manta Rays is also expected to make his debut for the meet on Friday after missing the 50 free, where he was the top seed, on Thursday. Chaney is scheduled to race the 200 free (with his teammates Carson Foster and Jacob McDonald on either side of him in heat 12), as well as the 100 back as the #2 seed and the 100 fly as the #8 seed.
