UCSD promotes assistant/alum Daniel Perdew to interim head coach

UC-San Diego has promoted assistant coach and former Triton standout Daniel Perdew to interim head coach to fill their vacant leadership position.

Perdew has had a fast rise at UCSD, being first promoted to the team’s top full-time assistant position last May. He’s a 5-time NCAA champion with the school, and still holds program records in the 50 and 100 frees. He finished his collegiate career in 2010.

Perdew will take over for former head coach Matt Macedo, who left to take the associate head coaching job at UC-Santa Barbara earlier this summer. Macedo had been with UCSD for three seasons.

Volunteer assistant Marko Djordjevic will take over Perdew’s full-time assistant role, the school announced in its press release.
