Swim Training: Got the long course blues, then shorten your 50 meter lane

Swim Training / Swimming News courtesy of FINIS, a SwimSwam partner.

Long course season and warmer weather means fewer lanes and more swimmers in the water. When pressed for space, coaches and swimmers all-too-often sacrifice speed and turn development in workouts. Easy to store and even easier to install, the Turnmaster Pro is the ultimate cure for any midsummer long course blues.

For coaches the Turnmaster Pro offers an opportunity to reengergize long course workouts. Try installing the Turnmaster Pro mid-pool to further differentiate swimmers by ability as well as break up crowded lanes. Also, using the Turnmaster Pro at the 15-meter mark is a great way to work on short bursts of speed. Have your swimmers sprint off of the wall with a strong finish into the Turnmaster Pro, then duck under and finish the rest of the length nice and easy.

For fitness swimmers the Turnmaster Pro is perhaps a much-needed reprieve from the back and forth of a 50-meter pool. Missing the intensity of a short course workout but want to stay outside? The Turnmaster Pro is the perfect fix! Ask your Aquatics Director if your local pool currently has a Turnmaster Pro available for use. If not, ask your Aquatics Director to call 888-333-4647 for more information.

The Turnmaster Pro is a portable lane bulkhead designed to maximize lane usage. Easily installed in minutes, the Turnmaster Pro is suspended between two lane ropes, dividing one lane into two. Its streamline design prevents drag in the water and extends seamlessly across pool lanes, allowing you to optimize your pool space. Built of durable Vinyl Ester chlorine resistant fiberglass, the Turnmaster Pro is built to withstand the impact of race speed turns. Available in four sizes the Turnmaster Pro will fit most any lane size.
