Men’s 200 Freestyle – FINALS
Michael Phelps has always been an animal underwater, using his walls to his advantage. He is out way faster than this morning. This morning he was out at 54.0, compared to his 52.47 tonight. Yannick Agnel had a huge final 100, winning the race with a huge time of 1:46.99. Michael Phelps finished second with a 1:48.20. Michael Wynalda won the B-final of the men’s 200 freestyle with a time of 1:50.47.
i’m absolutely LOVING this camaraderie between Michael and Yannick.
I admittedly wasn’t a fan of Agnel when he ran us down in the Olympics…but he seems to be such a nice person. I love that they’re helping each other swim faster.
PS…for some reason, I think Michael’s next move might be coaching…I know he’s said definitely not in the past…but his recent shift in opinions have me thinking it’s possible…
“In a close race, he’ll get his hand on the wall first.”
High praise coming from one of the kings of digging deep/out touching.
“10 grand pianos on my back!”
😆
Come on MP. Very good first 200 free final.
You’re on track to swim 1.45 in August and be very precious for the US relay.
Yannick seems like a very nice person! Clearly he and Michael respect each other and they are becoming friends, which I’m sure will benefit both of them.
