In September, open water endurance swimming star Meredith Novack not only became the first woman to ever do a back-and-forth crossing of Hawaii’s Auau Channel between the islands of Lanai and Maui, she became the new record holder in the distance in her first ever attempt.
Novack not only broke the women’s record, but her swim done in 11 hours and 1 minute was 44 minutes faster than any man has done the swim as well.
Now, the Surf Channel Television Network has put together a video highlighting the swim, which includes two encounters with dangerous tiger sharks. See that video above.
