Barbera Jardin does not make the team – she tied for 4th, but the tie breaker according to the selection policy is the prelims swim, where Emily Overholt was faster.

Men’s 100 free was brutal. Only two guys under 50 and 51-mid for a 2nd swim. That’s embarrassing. (Not that it should matter, but I am Canadian.)

There’s no sustained progression in the men’s sprints here in Canada for 50 years!!

So does this mean Canada will not send a Men’s 400/800 free relay to pan pacs or CW games..?

Surprisingly lenient qualification standards for the Canadians, much like the Australians. I have a feeling the English have got it slightly wrong, our standards are ridiculous. A few examples…

50m Free – 21.6 & 24.59
400m Free – 3.45.85 & 4.04.03
100m Breast – 59.80 & 1.07.36

I suspect a lot of athletes will be getting through on what are essentially ‘B’ times.
