U.S. Olympian Alex Meyer Attends YMCA Short Course Nationals

U.S. Olympian Alex Meyer (Ithaca, N.Y.) will represent the USA Swimming Foundation at the 2014 YMCA Short Course National Championships on Tuesday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

“I’m thrilled to be attending Y Nationals this year for the first time on behalf of the Foundation,” said Meyer. “My swimming career started with the Glens Falls YMCA Gators when I was just 7 years old. I think the team atmosphere is incredibly exciting and is what swimming is all about.”

Meyer will lead the athlete parade at 5:15 p.m. and will then swim the ceremonial first lap. Following his swim, the 2012 Olympian will sign autographs and take photos before presenting awards at the conclusion of the event.

The event is open to the media. More information can be found here.
