Harvard increased their Ivy record to 4-0 on Senior Day at Blodgett Pool. The men’s meet was a closer contest than the women’s, but in the end Harvard’s depth proved too much for the Bears. The Crimson won all but four events and had too many second- and third-place finishes for Brown ever to make a serious dent in Harvard’s lead.

The hosts began with a win in the 200 medley relay. Jack Pretto, Danny Crigler, Jacob Luna, and Chris Satterthwaite finished in 1:30.50 ahead of two more Harvard quartets. Brown’s scoring relay consisted of Alexander Pascal, Christopher Meyers, Daniel Klotz, and Jeffrey Strausser.
Mike Gaudiani of Harvard was the victor in the 1000 free in 9:24.36. In the final 200 of the race Brown’s Cory Mayfield nearly made up a six-second deficit to catch Harvard’s Steven Kekacs, but ended up third as Kekacs touched .8 ahead of him.
Harvard’s Spenser Goodman (1:39.68) and Aly Abdel Khalik went 1-2 in the 200 free, while Brown senior Tommy Glenn touched third. In the 100 back it was Pretto out front in 50.06. His Harvard teammate Mitchell Foster was second and Pascal of Brown, third.
Harvard swept the 100 breast, led by Eric Ronda (58.10) who touched out Crigler by .01. Jason Ting was third, and Brown’s Connor Lohman was fourth.
Tommy Glenn prevented a first-place shutout with his come-from-behind victory over Harvard’s Luna. Behind 52.79 to Luna’s 52.41 after the first 100, Glenn smoked the back half in 55.96 and came away with the win, 1:48.75 to 1:48.87. Leo Lim of Harvard finished third.
The Crimson got two more 1-2-3 sweeps in the sprint frees. Griffin Schumacher won the pair (20.33 in the 50 and and 44.99 in the 100); teammates Satterthwaite and Oliver Lee rounded off the podium in the 50, while Crigler and Goodman placed second and third in the 100. Brown’s Strausser was fourth in both events.

Jack Manchester (1:48.08) of Harvard beat teammate Christian Yeager to claim the title in the 200 back, while Max Bley-Male took third. Harvard’s Ronda won his second event with a 2:04.81 in the 200 breast. Teammates Matthew Karle and Ting came in virtually together, a .32 advantage going to Karle. Brown’s Lohman was fourth.
Harvard senior Satterthwaite (4:32.12) led a Crimson sweep of the 500 free. Guardiani, Kekacs and Brown’s Mayfield finished in a tight bunch but the two from Cambridge had the edge and Mayfield had to settle for fourth.
Glenn didn’t leave any doubt in the 100 fly, as he took it out fastest and came home fastest to win by a more comfortable margin this time over Harvard’s Luna. Oliver Lee was third. In the 200 IM, Brown’s Lohmann came out on top, ahead of teammates Bly-Male and Mayfield.
Crimson diver Joe Zarrella won both the one- and three-meter events. The senior beat Brown’s Jonathan Schlafer of Harvard on the one-meter board, and Sazzy Gourley on the three-meter. Zarrella’s teammate Manasseh Oso finished third both times.
The meet wrapped up with a victory for Brown’s Pascal, Strausser, Jack Nee, and Glenn in the 400 free relay.
