FISHERS, Ind. – Xavier swimming collected six combined wins at the Butler Invite, with the women’s team taking the top spot out of seven teams and the men finishing third out of six squads.
Xavier travels to Miami (Ohio) for its final meet before the BIG EAST Championships, facing the RedHawks on Saturday, February 3, with events set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
- Kali Fischer, Jordyn Libler, Erin Ritz and Olivia Oyster opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 400 medley relay, setting a time of 3:49.03.
- Charlie Ramey led Xavier in the mile, setting a time of 18.22.06 to place fifth.
- Kali Fischer placed second in the 200 free with a time of 1:51.85. Clara Keiser placed fourth.
- Abby Bocian placed third in the 100 back with a time of 59.26. Julia Sweetman and Amy Van Son placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
- Kate Lair led Xavier in the 100 breast with a time of 1:08.25, placing sixth.
- Erin Ritz won the 200 fly with a time of 2:07.17. Anna Voelkerding placed third.
- Olivia Oyster took first in the 50 free with a time of 23.26. She followed that with a first-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 50.83.
- Charlie Ramey placed second in the 200 back with a time of 2:08.84. Abby Bocian, Reese Turner and Amy Van Son placed third, fourth and fifth respectively.
- Jordyn Libler won the 200 breast with a time of 2:20.10. Kate Lair placed fourth and Ally Zaleski finished fifth.
- Kali Fischer placed third in the 500 free with a time of 5:06.44. Clara Keiser placed fifth.
- Anna Baker led Xavier in the 100 fly, finishing fourth with a time of 59.82.
- Ally Zaleski led Xavier with a fourth-place finish in the 200 IM, setting a time of 2:13.08. Julia Sweetman placed fifth.
- Alexis Worrall, Reese Turner, Kali Fischer and Olivia Oyster closed the meet with a second-place finish in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:35.93.
- The Musketeer women collected five event wins and took the top spot out of seven teams, scoring 1264.5 points.

- Gage Hannewyk, Ethan Saunders, Aiden Leamer and Kyle Hudson set a time of 3:31.71 in the 400 medley relay to lead the Musketeers.
- Ryan Knipp led Xavier in the mile with a time of 16:42.37, placing fourth.
- Luke Peterson led Xavier in the 200 free, placing third with a time of 1:44.07. Nathan Wall placed fourth.
- Peterson also led Xavier in the 500 free, setting a time of 4:39.59 to place sixth.
- Matt Fralic set a time of 53.01 in the 100 back to lead the Musketeers.
- Brayden Mandacina led Xavier in the 100 breast with a time of 1:00.04. He also led the Musketeers with a time 2:12.87 in the 200 breast, placing sixth.
- Aiden Leamer won the 200 fly with a time of 1:50.82. Jack Parker placed fifth.
- Leamer also led Xavier in the 100 fly with a time of 50.10 to place fourth.
- CJ Sorensen led Xavier with a time of 21.90 in the 50 free.
- Kyle Hudson placed fourth in the 100 free with a time of 47.24.
- Michael Benington placed second in the 200 back with a time of 1:56.44.
- Nathan Wall set a time of 1:57.68 in the 200 IM to lead Xavier, finishing eighth.
- Matthew Adanin, Gage Hannewyk, Kyle Hudson and Aiden Leamer set a time of 1:25.16 in the 200 free relay to finish fifth.
- The Musketeers collected 857, finishing third out of six teams.

FISHERS, Ind. – – The Ball State men’s swimming program closed a busy week by earning three event wins and 18 top five finishes to take home the Butler Invitational title Sunday afternoon at Fishers High School.
The Cardinals won the six-team event with a score of 1205.5, exactly 100 points better than second place UIndy (1105.5).
Once again, BSU was led by a solid performance from senior Joey Garberick who swept the breaststroke events for the second time in three days, this time clocking in at 53.71 in the 100 and 2:01.79 in the 200. He also swam the second leg for the second place 400 medley relay (3:18.53) to open the meet, and leadoff for the second place 200 freestyle relay (1:22.33) to end the day.
Ball State also received a dominating performance in the day’s longest event, sweeping the top three spot in the 1650 freestyle. Freshman Seth Blossom won the event with the fifth-fastest time in program history, at 15:58.40, just out-touching classmate Tommy Brunner who placed second in 15:58.51.
Junior Alexander Eddy closed out the 1-2-3 finish in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 16:27.30.
The Cardinals also received a second-place finish from junior Michael Mitsynskyy in the 200 freestyle (1:42.70).
Senior Owen Chaye nabbed third place finishes in both the 50 (20.84) and 100 (46.51) freestyle events, while junior Max Kruglov placed third in the 100 backstroke (52.06), sophomore Benjamin Clarkston placed third in the 200 butterfly (1:56.34) and sophomore Logan Ayres placed third in the 200 backstroke (1:56.53).
The Ball State men’s swimming & diving team returns to action Saturday (Feb. 3) when it travels to Bellarmine for a 1 p.m. dual.
