Did a second listen and noticed Coleman calls Kaylee and Regan “the two greatest backstrokers of all time”. Surprised he’s not getting heat for that haha
The entry list for QLD Champs is out for anyone interested.
https://qld.swimming.org.au/events/2023-hancock-prospecting-queensland-championships
Hannah Casey is missing and she no longer has a club set at results central. Maybe she’s taking a break from swimming?
Seebohm and Horton also missing otherwise all the QLDers seem to be entered.
Some from out of state entered:
Joshua Yong
Will Yang
Matt Wilson
Haig Buckingham
Will Petric
Isabella Boyd
Brad Woodward
Sam Williamson
Tamsin Cook
Olivia Wunsch
Iona Anderson
Shaun Champion
Quite a few Japanese entered as well including Seto and Ikee.
Oh Schoeman is also entered.
Harkin’s entries are very random lol if she was gonna just be entering off events you’d think it would be the 200 free/200im and not the 1500 and sprint fly?
marion giving it a miss because of the turnaround after japan open. no c2 either, but I expect she’s going to the nsw meet that’s running parallel to qld states
Madi isn’t going to the Japan Open so maybe just not ready to start her season.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I thought Kaylee was crazy for changing her lifelong coach right after he assisted her to 3 Olympic golds… but it seems like she did make the right decision. Bohly and Kaylee could make some serious history next year if everything goes right
She swam with other coaches before Chris Mooney.
he did a tremendous job though, so still a big risk.
Bohl truly elevated and inspired his swimmers to greatness. His results speak for itself.
Worth listening to the very end for him saying he listens to the podcast, but…not all of them.
Such a great interview. Bohly is very personable. Love how he keeps learning, and impressed by the generosity of some of the US coaches. I’d love to be in on the conversations between Bowman and Bohl.
Keep up the great work “Bohly” and thanks for sharing, while staying humble as always.
Hope to see you & Steelman down the road
