Li Bingjie had fastest the second half in W800FR race – 4:06.28 (4:06.95 – Ledecky; 4:07.95 – Titmus). It makes her more formidable competitor to Ledecky than Titmus especially if to remember that she is 2 years younger than Titmus. With such strong back-half she can go closer to 8:10 with making the beginning of the race slightly more efficient. That’s the approach we have seen taken recently by Titmus and McIntosh in their 200/400 races – emphasizing on strong start. That’s what Ledecky does in all her long distance races.
