Romanian swimmer Alexandra Radu has been slapped with a two-year ban by the Romanian Hearing Commission for Athletes, dating back to July 22nd, 2013, after a positive test for the banned substance Dehydroclormethyltestosterone, a Class S.1.1.a Exogenous Anabolic Androngenic Steroid. The test happened at the Junior & Senior National Championships in Bucharest.
Radu, who is just 15 years, old, is primarily a breaststroker, with long course bests of 35.94 and 1:17.74 in the 50 and 100 breaststrokes. That 100 placed her 5th at the 2012 edition of the national championship meet.
Dehydroclormethyltestosterone, sold in Europe under the name “Turinabol,” was developed in East Germany in the 1960’s. It was the key steroid used in the East German doping program of the 1970’s and 1980’s.

what Romanian Antidoping Agency is saying. It’s a long story, this
girl was training without a coach for 2 years, even that is was
selected by Romanian Swimmning Federation to participate at many
international competitions without usually medical control for
swimmers. There are many things to say, but one things is for sure,
in this moment there is a law process, a long one, Audience
Commision decided to banned her for 2 years, we attacked this

Is there any investigation into how the drugs were obtained and administered, with sanctions for the coaches or other adults involved? It hardly seems likely a 15-year-old could have done this without adult collusion or coercion, and so it’s not strictly fair that she should be the only one to suffer the consequences.
Really? Seriously???? WHY??????? Did she/they think she would not be caught?????
