The guys from UCSC have improved so much, even from Junior Pan Pacs, that I have to think their coach is exceptional…no?

I would agree. Carl Simonson is leading the charge with this group of kids. Watching from the stands at some of the meets, it’s neat to see how this entire team supports each other.

Agreed. The team culture is great.

The way Carl, Dave and Nick have structured the squads and training is similar to how a lot of US college teams mix and match kids on different days.

They were just shy of the overall Canadian record in the 4×200 (UBC with Markus & Yuri in 2017).

It must be, looking at it he could potentially put 3 boys on the senior team and 2 more on the junior team. Senior team may be a bit of a stretch this year but I’d say those 5 could definitely make the junior team this year. Really neat seeing him bring up a whole group of boys, not just one. He’s giving our men hope for the future

Is it going out on a limb to say that Ella is going to make the 2023 LC Worlds team?
