Palm Desert Swim Club Names Jacinta Beckman New Head Coach

Palm Desert, CA. – Palm Desert Swim Club (PDSC) a USA Swimming Competitive Swim Team, “The Premier Swim Team in the Coachella Valley” whose mission is to create a safe, Inclusive, and exciting culture that instructs and inspires children of all ages to SWIM, COMPETE AND HAVE FUN is proud to announce that we have hired a new Head Coach.

Our Vision is to develop the premier swim program in the Coachella Valley for children of all ages and abilities which provides the highest quality coaching for swimmers that compete at every level, builds an exciting culture for our swimmers and families to have fun, learn life lessons and make friends that last a lifetime. We have found that our vision would be best served alongside our new head coach, Jacinta Beckman.

Coach Beckman comes to us most recently from The Mission Viejo Nadadores (MVN). Originating in 1968 and currently comprised of over 600 members distributed throughout 18 different training groups at multiple locations. Over the years, the Nadadores have earned over 47 National Team Titles, produced 148 National Champions, set 91 American Records and 22 World Records, and won 20 Olympic Medals. The Nadadores continue to place swimmers in the National and Junior National Team, as well as placing them at admirable universities. They’ve been a constant member of USA Swimming’s Gold Medal Club. Throughout the years, the team has hosted prestigious competitions consisting of international and national Olympic and elite level athletes, such as the Los Angeles Invitational, Swim Meet of Champions, USMS National Championship and TYR Pro Swim Series. The Marguerite Aquatic Center underwent a renovation in 2018 that made it a state-of-the-art aquatic facility that will assist the Nadadores in continuing their Olympic tradition of excellence.

Before her time with the Mission Viejo Nadadores Coach Jacinta coached in the Midwest and on the East Coast. Growing up in Columbus, OH. Coach Jacinta tells us that “Swimming was introduced to me at a very early age, and it immediately took root and has guided me through a lifetime dedicated to the sport.”

Coach Jacinta’s career began in the mid-80s during the summer months of her high school and college years where she coached with the inner-city swim team programs for the City of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department; a program that still thrives today.

After college, she landed in upstate New York and soon joined the coaching staff with Middletown Recreation Swim Team, MRST, a team in the Metropolitan LSC. While there she coached all levels, with most of her focus being with the 11-14 age group swimmers. During her years there, she assumed administrative, and communication duties and was instrumental in its strategic and branding planning. Further, Coach Jacinta implemented the learn to swim program while she was a member of the Metropolitan Zone coaching staff.

After moving to Pennsylvania, she coached at various country club and high school programs. Eventually Coach Jacinta became a head coach with Charters Valley Swim Club (CVSC), a team in the Allegheny Mountain Swimming LSC. After initially joining the coaching staff as their master’s coach, she very quickly moved into the role of Head Coach. In this role she was able to coach swimmers at all levels: developmental, age group, senior, college & masters. Coach Jacinta was also a member of the AMS Zone Coaching staff and served on the AMS BOD as the Age Group Vice Chair. In 2014, she returned “home” to Columbus and back to the club where her swimming career first started, Greater Columbus Swim Team of Ohio, GCSTO. While at GSTCO, she was able to coach and work with the 8-under swimmers, the club’s swim lesson and swim camp programs. And obtained her ASCA Level 2 certification.

Having always wanted to Coach with MVN (Nadadores) Coach Jacinta has moved quickly through the ranks of MVN from Head Age Group Coach to the CO Head Coach. She Shares, “I do not take my decision lightly and will bring part of the discipline and excellence to the Palm Desert Program and It is with a sense of pride that I take this additional step in my coaching career to become the head coach of the Palm Desert Swim Club, The Premier Swim Team in the Coachella Valley where we will carry on with all the good the sport of swimming does for the children of the Coachella Valley…and adults…keep an eye on us we have something special for you too!”
