“SO so excited to officially announce that I have been given the most amazing opportunity to continue my academic and swimming career at Old Dominion University . A massive thank you to my coaches, family and friends who have supported me throughout the process🤍#reignon🦁🇺🇸”
O’Toole swims for Ealing Swimming Club out of London, GBR. In February 2020, she competed at the Middlesex County Championships where she earned long course best times in the 800 freestyle (8:54.50) and the 200 backstroke (2:19.69).
She continued her success into March 2020 as she earned numerous best times while at the Region Spring Open Meet. Those times included the long course 200 (2:07.30), 400 (4:21.27), and 1500 (17:02.57) freestyles as well as the 100 backstroke (1:05.96).
She is a British 2x national medalist, Swim England 2x national medalist, and a London region Champion. She also was selected to the Swim England London team that was supposed to race in Barcelona before the meet was canceled due to COVID-19, and she qualified for the British and Irish 2021 Olympic Trials.
O’Toole attends Royal Masonic School for girls in Rickmansworth, England.
Her best times (LCM/SCM) with SCY conversions are:
- 200 freestyle: 2:07.30, 2:04.89 (converts to 1:51.80)
- 400 freestyle: 4:21.27, 4:17.68 (converts to 4:52.73)
- 800 freestyle: 8:54.50, 8:53.34 (converts to 9:58.87)
- 1500 freestyle: 17:02.57, 17:27.58 (converts to 16:42.51)
- 200 backstroke: 2:19.69, 2:14.94 (converts to 2:01.56)
Based on her best converted times, O’Toole has the potential to make a huge impact for Old Dominion at the conference level. They would have earned her a second place finish in the 1650 freestyle, a third place finish in the 500 freestyle, and a seventh place finish in the 200 backstroke. She would have been the only member of the team in the top eight in the 500 and 1650 freestyles.
She also has the potential to make school history as her best converted times already put her third in school history in the 500 and 1650 freestyles as well as eighth in the 200 backstroke.
Old Dominion University is a public university located in Norfolk, Virginia. The school is a member of Conference-USA (C-USA). The team finished sixth out of six teams at the 2021 C-USA Championships. They were led by current junior Tara Enneking who captured the conference title in the 200 IM.
O’Toole will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2026 along with fellow international student Sadie Goldin.
