RIT Picks Up Game-Changing Backstroker Talent Connor Shriver for 2025

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Connor Shriver, a recent graduate of Emmaus High School in Macungie, PA, has committed to Rochester Institute of Technology, an NCAA Division 3 school in Rochester, NY. He began his club swimming career at TriValley YMCA, but switched to Emmaus Swim Club in 2018, the team he currently represents.

I’m super excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Rochester Institute of Technology! Thank you to my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for helping me get to where I am today!! I love everything that RIT has to offer in the classroom and in the pool. Can’t wait for the next 5!!!

He competed this summer for his club team at the Middle Atlantic Senior Championships, where he swam personal bests in all five of his races. His most impressive drop came in his 200 back, where he crushed his previous long course best by almost six seconds.

Top Times SCY:

  • 50 Free- 21.89
  • 100 Free- 47.51
  • 200 Free- 1:43.09
  • 100 Back- 50.72
  • 200 Back- 1:51.84

Shriver looks to be a high-impact swimmer for RIT, as he comes in way under the current 100 back school record of 52.26. In the 200 back, he is just tenths off the record of 1:51.35. Both of these current records were set by Aidan Daudier at the 2020 Liberty League Championships.

Based on those 2020 conference results, Shriver would have placed third, just behind Daudier, in the 200 back, as well as second in the 100 back. Additionally, he would have been on the A/B final bubble for both the 50 and 100 free. He’ll be a key player on both medley relays for the Tigers in the upcoming season, and could be a factor in the sprint free relays as well. Shriver joins Flynn Lundeen, Andrew Smith, Colin Lewis, Ben Sippel, and Ronan Gorman in the Tiger’s class of 2025.
