“Once a swimmer, always a swimmer” is the motto that Kelsey Zimcosky lives by. Though she could not compete after 10 years in the sport due to a shoulder injury, she has been unable to stay away from the water. While it is strange watching the sport from the deck, it has not dulled her passion. She has been able to keep this passion alive by being a copy-editor for USA Swimming’s “Splash” magazine, coaching age-group swimmers with her local YMCA, and by managing her university’s swim team. Having 4 younger siblings in the sport helps as well.
Currently a student at Wheeling Jesuit University, she is studying for her degree in Communications in the hopes of becoming a Sports Journalist. Her ultimate goal is to knock Andrea Kremer out of the journalism spot at the Olympics!
