Distance Freestyler Brian Bull Chooses University of Cincinnati for 2022

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Brian Bull of Hillsborough, NJ has verbally committed to swim for the University of Cincinnati beginning in the 2022-2023 season. He is a rising senior at Immaculata High School and a year-round swimmer for the Somerset Valley YMCA.

I am extremely excited and grateful to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Cincinnati. With great academics, an awesome swim team, and a beautiful campus, Cincinnati was the perfect fit. I would like to thank my parents, coaches, teammates, and especially Rick at ACC recruits who helped guide me through this amazing process. Go Bearcats!

In April of 2019, Bull competed at the YMCA Short Course National Championships. He swam the 500, 1000, and 1650 free, and the 400 IM. He touched 15th in the morning heats of the 500 free and 20th in the 400 IM, making it back for finals swims in both. He went faster in both races going best times of 4:30.67 in the free and 4:02.02 in the IM. He also went personal best in the timed finals of the 1000 (9:18.55) and the 1650 (15:37.76), touching 11th and 6th, respectively.

Top SCY Times:

  • 500 free – 4:30.67
  • 1000 free – 9:18.55
  • 1650 free – 15:37.76
  • 400 IM – 4:02.02

Bull will be a distance swimmer for the Bearcats when he arrives in the fall of 2022. This season, he would have been the team’s second-fastest 1000 freestyler and its third-fastest in the 1650. Top freestylers Noah Smith and Kevin Leibold will be senior by the time Bull arrives on campus.

Bull could finish in the top 8 of the 1650 free at the American Athletic Association Conference Championships. His 500 free could earn him a spot in the B-final.

Cincinnati has already picked up a verbal commitment from backstroker Ben Grottle for the 2022-2023 season.
