Autumn Haebig was the first swimmer of the meet to earn a second qualification for Wave II. She won the A-final of the 100 back yesterday and finished second in the women’s 200 free on Day 2 of racing. Tonight’s swim will rank her  56th in the 200 free. Per USA Swimming’s rules, once an athlete qualifies for Wave II, they can swim any event at the meet in which they have a Wave I cut.

Katie Trace also picked up another Wave II qualification, touching second in the 400 IM. She dropped 1.3 seconds to jump from 8th place in prelims to second place in finals. She won the 200 fly in finals yesterday, grabbing her first Wave II ticket.

Katy Aquatics will be sending another swimmer to Wave II. Tyler Kopp won the men’s 400 IM to move on to the meet next weekend, where he will be ranked 22nd. Club and former high school teammate Emma Sticklen earned her ticket yesterday when she finished second in the women’s 200 fly. They were both captains for the Taylor High School swim team in Katy, TX during the 2019-2020 season. They are representing Katy Aquatics at the 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Zoe Skirboll is the second 16-year-old to move on to Wave II. During last night’s Day 1 Finals, Camille Spink dominated the 100 free for a spot in Wave II, making her the first 16-year-old to advance. Tonight, Skirboll’s second-place finish in the 100 breast puts her through to the Wave II meet as well.

Why no mention of the women’s 400 IM winner in the article?

No mention in the article. I see her in the results, but don’t know why she wasn’t mentioned in the article- she qualified for the next wave, as did the girl who got 2nd in the event. I just don’t understand why they both did not get mentioned.
