The St. Bonaventure University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams begin the 2021 season Sunday, March 7 at the Reilly Center Pool against Little Three rival Niagara.

Bona’s men’s team finished third at the 2020 Atlantic 10 Championships. Looking to carry the momentum from last season are returning junior George Kalletta, where he earned a gold medal in the 400-IM (3:49.04), handily shattering the program record of 3:53.54 at the A-10 Championships and senior Tjaard Krusch who won four medals and set a new Atlantic 10 Conference Championship and program record at the 2020 A-10 Swimming and Diving Championships. The Bonnies won a total of 10 medals at last year’s championship meet.

On the women’s side, returning junior Rachel Kimmel looks to improve her own program records, as she broke the St. Bonaventure program record and won silver medals in the 100-breaststroke (1:01.24) and 200-breaststroke last season. Other program record holders also returning for the Bonnies are Claire Schaef (1000-freestyle and 1650-freestyle), Katrina Wardner (400-IM, 200-medley relay and 400-medley relay), Zanre Oberholzer (200-medley relay) and Mia Cote (200-medley relay).
