AUSTIN, Texas — The No. 1 University of Texas Men’s Swimming and Diving team swept the season’s Big 12 Conference weekly awards, the league office announced Wednesday. Junior Alex Zettle was named Swimmer of the Week, while senior Jordan Windle claimed his third Diver of the Week accolade this season.

During UT’s dual-meet win against SMU on Feb. 5, Zettle earned a dominant individual victory in the 1,000-yard freestyle. He posted a winning time of 8:48.39, recording the third-fastest time in the nation in the event this season. Zettle beat the second-place finisher by over six seconds.

Windle previously earned Big 12 Diver of the Week honors this season on Nov. 10 and Nov. 24. In the dual-meet victory against SMU, Windle swept the individual titles on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. The senior All-American posted a score of 431.79 in the 1-meter event and a 450.68 in the 3-meter event.

The Longhorns return to the pool when they host the Big 12 Swimming Championships on Feb. 24-27 (Wednesday-Saturday) and the Big 12 Diving Championships on March 1-3 (Monday-Wednesday). Both events will be held at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. Due to health and safety protocols, both events are closed to the public.
