Several Italian swimmers have announced their negative COVID-19 tests following an outbreak that occurred just after last month’s Italian Open Championships, as originally reported by SwimSwam Italia.
As previously reported, World Junior record holder Benedetta Pilato announced her negative test on January 5, and has resumed training under her coach Vito D’Onghia.
Athletes joining Pilato in announcing their negative tests via Instagram include Elena Di Liddo, Martina Carraro, Silvia Di Pietro, and Giulia D’Innocenzo. All four women have also been able to resume training.
Di Liddo announced her negative test first, posing on January 1 with the caption, “36 hours ago the buffer of hope, I prayed that 2020 would go to fa** as soon as possible.
