22-time Olympic gold medalist, Michael Phelps, takes batting practice with the Baltimore Orioles at their spring training camp in Sarasota, Florida.
Listen to the crack of that bat? Phelps is displaying ability across another discipline, and he appears to be very much at home in the batting cage.
Phelps has spent a lot of time on the links, developing his appreciation of golf since retirement from the pool (and officially becoming the greatest Olympian of all-time). That’s why Phelps was in Sarasota. He’s there working on an episode of Golf Channel’s “The Haney Project, ” Hank Haney.
The Golf Channel Series, “The Haney Project,” featuring Michael Phelps, debuts Monday, 9pm ET.
Here’s more of the Michael Phelps video at the Baltimore Orioles’ batting practice:
That’s a good observation. He has the opposite problem of most of us. His baseball swing looks like a golf swing, when most of us have a golf swing that looks like a baseball swing. But hey, he’s Michael Phelps…when it comes to sports, he’s earned more than a little latitude…
So, anybody know how the Texas High School state championships went today?
I’ve never seen someone look that much like they’re golfing when batting. Someone shoulda told him to pick up his front foot and shift his weight a bit more but hey, at least his hips are moving.
Watch out Surhoff, you got some competition.
