Trevor Edwards Commits to Midland University

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Trevor Edwards, a current high school senior from Omaha, Nebraska, has committed to swim for NAIA Division I Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska. Edwards will graduate from Millard High School in spring 2020 and join the Warriors’ class of 2024.

Edwards currently swims unattached in the Midwestern LSC along with swimming for his high school team at Millard under coach Tyler Hammond. At the 2020 Nebraska High School State Meet, Edwards was a finalist in two events. He placed 4th in the 100 butterfly (51.81) and 5th in the 100 backstroke (52.47).

“I am extremely excited and honored to announce that I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at Midland University! I would first like to thank my coaches, family and friends for the endless support and also for helping me get to where I am today. I cannot wait to see what the next 4 years hold at Midland! It’s a great day to be a Warrior!!!!!”

At the 2020 KCAC Swimming & Diving Championships, Edwards would have been a great asset to the Warriors. He would have been the conference champion in the 100 backstroke with his current best time of 52.47. This time would have put him on the backstroke leg of the 400 medley relay as well.

He would have placed 2nd in the 100 butterfly (51.81) which put him as Midland’s top 100 butterflier at KCAC. He also would have placed 5th in the 50 freestyle (22.62). Future teammate Scott Cain won that event with a time of 20.58.

Best SCY Times:

  • 50 freestyle – 22.62
  • 100 freestyle – 49.33
  • 100 backstroke – 52.47
  • 100 breaststroke – 1:04.55
  • 100 butterfly – 51.81

At the KCAC Championships, Midland University won the meet by over 300 points under coach Ryan Bubb. The men’s team won 7 individual events and 5 relays. In addition, multiple team members qualified for NAIA Nationals where they placed 4th as a team.
