SwimMAC’s Laura Davis Has Committed to the Richmond Spiders for 2021-22

Laura Davis, a current high school junior from Charlotte, North Carolina, has committed to swim for Division I Richmond University. Davis will graduate from Providence Senior High School in spring 2021 and join the Spiders’ class of 2025.

Davis is a current swimmer for SwimMAC Carolina and is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. At the NCHSAA 4A Western Regional Championships, Davis placed 2^nd in the 500 freestyle (5:07.31) and 7^th in the 200 IM (2:09.02). She also placed 7^th in the 400 IM (4:59.95) at Futures and is a Winter Junior Nationals qualifier.

At the 2020 Atlantic-10 Swimming and Diving Championships, where Richmond was 4th as a team, Davis would have placed 13^th in the 1650 freestyle (17:07.05) and 15^th in the 400 IM (4:25.78) with her current best times. Davis has one more year to train before she’ll join the Spiders.

• 200 freestyle – 1:53.01
• 500 freestyle – 5:00.02
• 1650 freestyle – 17:07.05
• 200 backstroke – 2:05.57
• 100 breaststroke – 1:05.76
• 200 IM – 2:05.00
• 400 IM – 4:25.78

This year at the A-10 Championships, the Spiders placed 4^th as a team.

Davis will begin her swimming career at the University of Richmond fall 2021.
