Jacob Clark Commits to DIII John Carroll University

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Jacob Clark, a current high school senior from Erie, Pennsylvania, has committed to swim for NCAA Division III John Carroll University. Clark will graduate from Cathedral Prep School in spring 2020 and join the Blue Streak’s class of 2024.

Clark is a current year-round swimmer for Peninsula Wave Riders and specializes in sprint freestyle and backstroke.

“I am excited to announce my commitment to swim and study biology at John Carroll University! I would like to thank my family, friends, and coaches for the support they have given me over the years, and Coach Fino for giving me the chance of a lifetime to continue my swimming career. I chose John Carroll not just for their wonderful athletics program, but for the exceptional academics and opportunities that will be offered to me throughout my time there. I am very excited to spend my next 4 years swimming for such a great team at an amazing institution! Go Blue Streaks!🔷⚡️”

With his current best times, Clark would have placed 13th in the 100 backstroke (55.19) and 14th in the 50 freestyle (22.67) at the 2020 OAC Swimming and Diving Championships.

Top SCY Times

  • 50 freestyle – 22.67
  • 100 freestyle – 51.17
  • 100 backstroke – 55.19

At the OAC Championships this year, the Blue Streaks placed 1st as a team for their fourth consecutive year. Many team records fell, and 22 student athletes were put on the 2020 Academic All-OAC Winner’s List.

In addition, John Carroll University’s Forrest Campbell was named OAC Men’s Swimmer of the Year. He won three events, broke three team records and made three NCAA cuts.

Clark will begin his swimming career at John Carroll University beginning fall 2020.
