Week 8 of collegiate women’s water polo action began with four contests on Wednesday. La Verne’s Jassmine Kezman racked up a career-high seven goals as the Leopards bested the Redlands 10-6 to highlight play. In Whittier’s 16-11 win over Chapman, Natasha Velez scored four times. There were also seven hat tricks across the four Wednesday matches.

The week’s schedule continues on Friday with the first of two days of action at the Claremont Convergence in California. The event, cohosted by Pomona-Pitzer, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and La Verne, will feature 19 matches on Friday and 18 on Saturday across three pools.
Haldeman Pool in Pomona, Axelrood Pool in Claremont and Las Flores Park in La Verne will welcome #12 Loyola Marymount alongside RV Cal Baptist and Sonoma State. Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal Tech, Chapman, Concordia (Irvine), Fresno Pacific, La Salle, Occidental, Penn State Behrend, St. Francis Brooklyn, Redlands, Villanova and Whittier round out the field.
On Saturday, two-day tournaments begin in Bloomington, Indiana; Cambridge, Massachusetts and Monmouth, Illinois.
In Bloomington, the #12 Indiana Hoosiers welcome Mercyhurst, McKendree and Cal Lutheran for a six match affair.
In Cambridge, #17 Harvard hosts the 18-match Harvard Invitational, beginning with 10 contests on Saturday. The Crimson headline the tournament alongside #19 Wagner, #22 Bucknell, #24 Marist, newly-minted#25 Cal State East Bay and RV Brown. Connecticut College, Iona, LIU Brooklyn, Salem and Siena round out the field. The event includes six matches between ranked teams.
In Monmouth, Austin College, Carthage, Macalester and Wittenberg join the host Scots for five matches each on Saturday and Sunday.
Away from the tournament format, 10 Top 25 affairs are set to take place, including three Top 10 matches.
