COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Wyoming’s Phoebe Browne and Melissa Mirafuentes have been named MW Swimming and Diving Peak Players of the Week. Browne was named swimmer of the week, while Mirafuentes garnered diver of the week.
The honor marks Browne’s first career accolade and Mirafuentes’ second.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Phoebe Browne, Wyoming
Sophomore, Franklin, Tennessee/Franklin HS
- Against Cal Baptist, the sophomore tallied a top finish in the 100 breast (1:05.01) and a top-10 finish in the 100 fly (59.72). She also swam the third leg of the second-place 400 medley relay team.
- Against UNLV, recorded 29 of the Cowgirls’ 142 points, while placing first in the 100 breast (1:04.93) and recording a season-best 2:20.84 in the 200 breast.
DIVER OF THE WEEK
Melissa Mirafuentes, Wyoming
Freshman, Guadalupe, Mexico/Preparatoria 9
- Placed sixth on the 1-meter and fifth on the 3-meter at the competitive Bruin invite.
- Tallied a 270 on the 1-meter dive in the finals, while taking home a 283.80 in the preliminary round.
- Recorded a 323.75 in the finals of the 3-meter dive.
