Pennsylvania 19-Year-Old McCall Banned After Sexual Assault on 14-Year-Old

Former Pennsylvania high school swimmer and 2018 graduate Conor McCall has been added to the U.S. Center for SafeSport’s banned database after pleading guilty to statutory sexual assault on a 14-year-old girl.

According to the local ABC affiliate, McCall had sex with a 14-year-old girl in July of 2018. He was 18 at the time. McCall pleaded guilty in October. In January of 2019, at his sentencing hearing, McCall told the judge he didn’t know about the age of consent, and didn’t know that what he was doing was against the law.

McCall was sentenced to 9 to 23 months in jail. ABC reports that at least three months of that sentence will be served in Lackawanna County jail, but that he will be put on work release and serve some of his sentence on house arrest.

McCall was a 2018 high school graduate, and swam for the Blue Dolphins Aquatics club and Scranton Preparatory School. He now appears in both the U.S. Center for SafeSport’s banned database and USA Swimming’s permanent ban list. In the SafeSport database, McCall is listed as “ineligible,” which typically means the window for an appeal remains open. McCall was sanctioned for “criminal disposition – sexual misconduct” as of December 16, 2019, and his entry carries the “subject to appeal / not yet final” tag.

He also appears on USA Swimming’s banned list as of December 16, 2019.

Search for and read the newspaper article. He is a rapist. He didn’t “have sex” with a minor, it was non consensual. He’s a pig. He should be banned from all human interaction.

You are correct you have to watched it with minors, but I have to admit I had an old boyfriend who was only 15 and I was 21 years old at the time. In those days, women didn’t get charge. Its smart to avoid sex with people under 18 years old.

A Germantown Academy kid did the same within the last 2 years, if I recall correctly, his family and supporters kept commenting on Swimswam that “his only crime was that he was a few months too old”.
It certainly derailed his time at UNC. He probably STILL thinks he was the victim.

There is never justice for the rape victims. These dirt bags are walking around enjoying their lives, while the victims suffer. They should all rot.

Not to be crass but 30 years ago boys on my HS team loved to utter the phrase “15 will get you 20”. I don’t buy that this guy didn’t know sleeping with a 14 year old was illegal!

I assume him saying he didn’t know was his version of the “cocaine kiss” defense.

Here’s what I am trying to figure out. If you look up the story, what this man did was rape a child, which is much different than statutory sexual assault. Was this some kind of plea deal? He should be going to prison for much longer than he is.

Looks like Pennsylvania law makes the distinction by consent of the victim. Having sex with a minor means statutory sexual assault, but their definition of rape does not include age. Strange because you always hear that “minors can’t consent”.

Looking at the article, this wasn’t a “romeo and juliet” type situation. This was not a consensual relationship where they happened to have intercourse..this was rape plain and simple.

This crime is clearly deplorable and should be punished. With that being said, am I to understand that he will serve 200%+ more time than Brock Turner?

Turner was assaulting an unconscious woman. Under 5 years for either is a travesty. 15 for Brock. That kid will never learn either because his parents are easy to designate rape sympathizers because he was so sad he “didn’t eat steak”. Animals

Turner’s victim Chanel Miller’s book Know My Name has even more detail also, such as the lame defense raised during the (rejected) appeal. Not to mention Turner’s father described his son’s 3-month prison sentence as “A heavy price to pay for 20 minutes of action”. As if women are a piece of meat to act out on. His only regret may be that he got caught. I just hope this ultimately (sooner rather than later) serves as a *very radical* wake-up call for all of them.

@ Coach Mike 1952. That is what I was talking about with the “20 minutes of action” quote for him. I couldn’t remember it nor did I really want to read through the assault Brock committed again. A wake-up call is obviously the largest hope for many people. The fact that I had two former friends and teammates on Stanford’s team at the time tells a story of different yet similar circumstances. The male told me that Brock was a creep which is by no means illegal. I was told by the female he’d sit to watch practices (M and W swimming separated at the time, not sure now) and stare for 2 hours like they were meat. Again that… Read more »

Conor knew very well what he was doing. He planned the whole thing. I mean he drive to rite aid to purchase Plan B BEFORE he raped her. He got a slap in the wrist for rape.
