Tennessee senior Erika Brown had a historic weekend at the 2019 Tennessee Invitational in her home pool. That’s a weekend that included a 46.15 in the 100 yard free that makes her the 2nd-fastest woman in history, a 21.19 in the 50 free that just missed her own personal best, and a 49.79 in the 100 yard fly that is a new best time and moves her into 4th place all-time in that event.

And, thanks to the University of Tennessee communications staff, we’ve got race videos! Below, check out Brown’s 100 yard fly and 100 yard free swims from this weekend in Knoxville.

100 Yard Fly – 49.79

Wow, Erica Brown certainly has command of the underwater game. Her kicks are strong and maintain excellent speed off of the walls. She is very special indeed. For her to repeat her sub – 50 performance, in November is very impressive. Kate Douglass at 18 years old has a bright future ahead of her. 50.3 at 18 years old would be a welcome addition on many D1 Men’s squads. Women’s NCAA’s are shaping up to be exciting yet again.

49.7 is nuts… but 50.3 from the freshman phenom is just as nuts… if not more… the versatility is unmatched… potential Coughlin status in her dominance of the NCAA during her next four years… her 100 fly in the big pool could be one to watch this summer… awesome that they were able to push each other to such amazing performances
