With the first round of fall invitational meets coming up this weekend, we at SwimSwam thought it would be helpful to give ours writers (and our readers) a handy at-a-glance chart of the top times in NCAA Division I swimming so far this season.

Times reflect the USA Swimming database as of the morning of Tuesday, November 19th.

On the women’s side, Erika Brown of Tennessee and Kate Douglass of Virginia have three nation-leading times each. On the men’s side, Cal’s Zheng Quah is the only swimmer with more than one top time.

Most, although certainly not all, of the times came from swimmers who were “suited up,” whether at one of the early invites like the Trojan Invite or the SMU Classic, or from suiting up at dual meets. Either way, we’d expect that the leaderboard should look almost completely different in a few days, as many of our top-ranked teams will be competing and swimmers will be shooting for NCAA automatic qualifying times.

Finally, it’s worth noting that we’ve only listed official times here, and that we have some seen some faster times at a few teams’ intrasquad meets, including Maggie MacNeil’s 49.57 100 fly at Michigan’s impromptu intrasquad, and Daniel Krueger’s 41.99 100 free at the Texas Orange-White meet.

When is Blaise Vera going to get a picture under “In this story”. He seems to be mentioned in almost every article and will be mentioned even more after the invites are over #stillontop

For a team that suited for every meet, Mizzou doesn’t have a lot of times on this list.

They have four of the eight relays that have been seriously contested by most teams. That’s pretty good.

wearing a suit doesn’t automatically make you the fastest in the country…

This time of year it should. Yikes

Except that, as the article says, many teams have suited up and taken a shot at top times.

No it shouldn’t. Who on Mizzou is suddenly going to be faster than say Erika Brown or Beata Nelson solely because they put on a suit?

Ouch that 800 free relay for men is going to be destroyed.
