Bryant’s Wong, Ritzer, Doruska Sweep NEC Weekly Awards

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women’s swimming and diving team swept the Northeast Conference weekly awards announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Junior Heather Wong (Ramsey, N.J.) was named the NEC Swimmer of the Week, classmate Gabrielle Ritzer (Sutton, Mass.) was named the NEC Diver of the Week and freshman Erin Doruska (Ankeny, Iowa) was named the NEC Rookie of the Week.

Wong posted a victory in the 100 breast against Boston College, finishing with a time of 1:06.59. She also finished third in the 200 breast with a time of 2:25.84.

Ritzer won the 3-meter dive against the Eagles with a score of 251.63. She finished fourth in the 1-meter with a score of 219.00.

Doruska claimed her first collegiate victory against Boston College, winning the 200 free with a time of 1:54.84. She also finished fifth in the 50 free (24.79) and tied for third in the 100 free (53.55).

The Bulldogs are back at home this Friday when they welcome Providence College to the Chace Athletic Center.
