Freestyler Maggie Farrell Verbally Commits to Denison for 2020-21 Season

Fitter and Faster Swim Clinics is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Kalamazoo, Michigan, native Maggie Farrell is heading east to Ohio to continue her swimming career at NCAA Division III Denison University beginning in the fall of 2020.

“I am ecstatic to announce my verbal commitment to study and swim at Denison University,” Farrell said. “Each time that I visited the campus, I fell more in love with the school and soon realized that it is truly where I am meant to be. I cannot wait to be a part of such an outstanding program with such a wonderful legacy. I am so incredibly grateful for my family, friends, coaches, and teachers who tremendously helped me get to where I am today. I am so excited to see what the future has in store. Go Big Red!”

Farrell was a Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2 State finalist in the 200 free and 500 free, finishing third (1:53.16) and fourth (5:04.46) respectively in November 2018. She also was part of Portage Central High School’s state champion 400 free relay and earned a bronze medal with the 200 free relay team.

In 2017, Farrell finished 15th in the 200 free (1:57.48) and 16th in the 500 free (5:19.13). She also swam on Portage Central’s fourth place 400 free relay and 12th place 200 free relay teams.

As a rookie in 2016, Farrell was 15th in the 500 free (5:22.66) and 21st in the 200 free (1:59.66).

Farrell also competes for Southwest Y Michigan Swimming.

I think you are looking at the map wrong if you have Ohio east of Michigan

Kalamazoo is far western Michigan, so maybe like South east. Picky picky.
