Swimming and Diving Head Coach Mandy Commons-DiSalle has announced the addition of Scott Fortier as an assistant coach for the Bearcats.

Fortier was previously a volunteer assistant coach at LSU and assistant coach at Tiger Aquatics Swim Club in Louisiana.

“I’m extremely excited to welcome Scott to the Bearcats family,” said Commons-DiSalle. “He is tremendously passionate about the sport of swimming and was an outstanding former elite athlete himself.  He brings a unique perspective to our coaching staff and I believe his experience will help us continue to build a championship program here at Cincinnati.”

Prior to his time in Louisiana, Fortier was a student assistant coach at Alabama and also spent time coaching the Shenandoah Marlins Aquatic Club and the Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club.

Fortier competed as a student-athlete at Alabama. He was a US Olympic Trials qualifier and a top-eight finisher at the Jr. National Championships. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama in the summer of 2017.
