NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Yale women’s swimming and diving team held its annual team banquet on Wednesday night, and junior Kendall Brent was elected team captain for the 2019-2020 season. Brent will follow senior Sophie Pilkinton as the captain for the Bulldogs.

“It is an honor to be able to serve the remarkable women of YSD,” Brent said. “The level of cohesion, support, and love transcends itself on this team, and it is a daily reminder that we rise by lifting others. I am confident that we will accomplish great things in and out of the pool, as we will continue to work as one and use the unique and essential qualities that each team member provides.”

Brent enjoyed an incredibly successful junior campaign, competing as an elite long-distance freestyle swimmer for the Bulldogs. At the Ivy League Championships, she finished fourth in the 500-yard freestyle, fourth in the 1650-yard freestyle, and ninth in the 1000-yard freestyle. Next year, she will look to continue her success in the pool as she takes on a bigger role for the team out of the pool.
