DURHAM, N.C. – A Blue Devil received recognition from the conference office for the second consecutive week Monday as junior Kylie Jordan was named the ACC Women’s Swimmer of the Week following her performance at the Janis Hape Dowd Nike Invitational.

Jordan turned in an impressive showing in the 100-yard butterfly preliminaries Saturday at Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion, breaking the program, facility and meet records with a 51.42 clocking. The performance marked nearly a one-second drop from her previous career best in the event. The Leesburg, Va., native added a second NCAA provisional cut in the 200 butterfly preliminaries Sunday at North Carolina’s Koury Natatorium, going 1:57.33 for the third-fastest mark in school history.

A championship finalist in both butterfly events at last year’s ACC meet, Jordan was also an NCAA qualifier a year ago.

Up next, Jordan, the Blue Devil women and the program’s divers turn their attention to the conference championship, which gets underway Feb. 20 in Greensboro, N.C.
