Cal’s Andrew Seliskar swam to a lifetime best in prelims of the 200 breast, qualifying 2nd only to Indiana’s Ian Finnerty. Seliskar, the Pac-12 champion, put up a 1:51.17 this morning to move to #9 on the all-time top performers list. He clipped his former best of 1:51.30 by a tenth.
Seliskar’s Splits:
- 1st 50 Split- 25.01
- 2nd 50 Split- 28.57
- 3rd 50 Split- 28.45
- 4th 50 Split-29.14
- Final Time- 1:51.17
Tonight, Seliskar will battle for the title with Finnerty in the center of the pool. Finnerty was narrowly faster this morning in 1:51.08, but he’s currently the 6th fastest man ever with his 1:50.78 from Big Tens. Last night, Finnerty became the first man ever to break 50 seconds in the 100 breast, so he could have another big performance in him tonight.

Long overdue… figured he would be sub 1:50 by now…
I think Finnerty walks away from the field and possibly goes home with another American Record. No one else will be under 1:50.
I doubt he goes 1:47
Ian and Cope will both beat him tonight. Seliskar always chokes at night.
I guess your theory didn’t play out for IU huh? I’m sorry IU wasn’t able to perform on the last night and got third as a team.
