Press Release courtesy of Swimming Australia

Swimming Australia has retained global executive search firm Odgers Berndston to assist in its search for a new CEO.  This follows the resignation of Mark Anderson last month to take up the position of CEO of Collingwood in early March 2018.

Leading the search for Odgers Berndtson will be Rebecca Reed, head of Australian Sports and Entertainment practice at Odgers Berndston.  Rebecca specialises in the appointment of CEOs and senior executives, as well as specialist roles within these industry sectors.

The Nominations Committee of the Board – led by Simon Rothery as Chair and including John BertrandTracy Stockwell and Jeremy Turner, with assistance from Laura Johnston -Swimming Australia GM Culture and Performance – communicated their confidence in Rebecca and Odgers Berndtson undertaking a thorough process for the role.

Swimming Australia Director Simon Rothery said, “We recognised that Odgers Berndston has a long history of executive search experience and success in the sports market and beyond at CEO level, as well as an excellent global and domestic network, capacity and reach.”

While Swimming Australia President John Bertrand AO added, “Through Odgers Berndston, we will be undertaking a thorough process to identify and attract a visionary, values-led and exceptional Chief Executive to join Swimming Australia on our journey to Tokyo 2020 and beyond.”
