Fairfield Swimming and Diving Head Coach Anthony Bruno has announced Frisk Driscoll as Assistant Coach for the upcoming 2017 season. He joins the Stags after working as the Head Coach of the Boys Varsity Swim Team at Staples High School in Westport, Conn.
“I am very excited to join the Fairfield University Swimming and Diving staff” said Driscoll. “Head Coach Anthony Bruno has a clear vision of the high levels the men’s and women’s teams can achieve and I am thankful to Coach Bruno and Fairfield University for offering me the opportunity to be a part of it.”
As a high school head coach, Driscoll led his 2014 team to a 10-1 record and a second place finish at the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference Championships and was named FCIAC Coach of the Year.
He was also an assistant coach of the Westport Water Rat Senior Team at the Westport/Weston Family YMCA working with both senior and national level swimmers. His team finished runner-up at the 2015 Short Course Y Nationals and has produced a National Champion in each of the last three years.
Driscoll has also had success as a student-athlete, swimming for the University of Connecticut and receiving a degree in Sports Management in 2010. He made it to the finals in the 1650 Freestyle at the Big East Conference Championships three years in a row.
“I am thrilled to have Frisk join our family” said Bruno. “He has a great ability to connect with student athletes and has coached and competed at a national level. I am excited to work together with Frisk and Dan to write the next chapter in Fairfield swimming and diving.”
